This self-serve snack area in a high-rise retirement home was plain and uninviting until this striped-awning treatment gave it a real Bistro feel.
The Bistro area is on the second floor, but snacks and conversation can still be inside or go out on the patio for fresh air and a great view.
So attractive they give the appearance of having always been there, these solution-dyed acrylic awnings keep the porch cooler, cut glare and fold up against the house in winter.
A tree-lined street of flat-fronted houses is always a unique challenge. This dome-shaped awning gives protection from the elements while maintaining the integrity of the house. Projecting out 36" and with the customer’s choice of decorative valance design around the bottom edge, the front of this house is striking, yet fits right in with the other houses on the street.
Sometimes they wanted shade, sometimes they didn't; what our customer really wanted was a comfortable outdoor living space. Mounted into brick, this electric retractable awning (23’ wide, projecting out 13’6" from the house) gives them sun and heat protection when they want it and, with the touch of a button, stores against the house when they don't.

Our customer wanted to create a street scene so that anyone walking down this hallway would have the feeling of being outside. Small awnings of dyed acrylic fabric set the tone and with decorative lights, hitching post and barber pole, they achieved their goal and have a striking "almost" outdoor area.
At certain times of the year, glare from this southwest-facing family room window was a terrible problem. The cream stripe in this awning not only matches the house siding, during the year when glare is not a problem, the awning will fold up against the side of the house. A beautiful solution to a temporary problem.
Facing east, this housefront took full morning sun. Brown awnings of solution-dyed acrylic fabric stopped the heat, glare and won't fade and deteriorate as readily as canvas.

The windows at this business faced southeast creating a terrific heat and glare problem. The white awning with custom terra cotta stripes (to blend with the brick exterior) is 25' long, projecting 48" out from the building. Does the job and looks good doing it.

Solution-dyed acrylic awning fabric is different from regular dyed canvas. Regular dyeing lays the dye solution on the fabric which leaves the outside of the fabric more saturated and darker than the center. With solution-dyed acrylic, the color is injected into the liquid solution, the solution is then spun into the fiber so the color is the same all the way through to the center of the fiber for real resistance to fading.

Awnings come with a wide choice of decorative valance designs to enhance the bottom edge of the awning. |
